CombiBreed Akita Americano

This CombiBreed package is designed to provide you with vital insights into your American Akita’s genetic health, traits and diversity and includes DNA tests for numerous important diseases and/or traits. In addition, we also calculate the Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) and the percentage of Heterozygosity of your dog’s DNA. The COI shows the degree of inbreeding of your dog, whereas the Heterozygosity percentage is a measure of your dog’s individual genetic diversity.

Information about individual tests in this package is available in the section ‘Included Tests’ on this page. We accept samples from animals of any age. Normally, the turnaround time of tests performed at our own facilities is 10 working days after receipt of the sample. For outsourced tests, so-called “External lab”, or “External Patent lab”, the turnaround time is at least 20 working days after receipt of your sample. Enanismo ACAN D1, D2, D3 MEJORADO, D4 + D5

Dwarfism is a form of abnormal development in size and stature. Chondrodysplastic dwarfism can be caused by mutations in the aggrecan (ACAN) gene. This gene encodes a proteoglycan essential for normal cartilage and bone development. Mutations in this gene lead to various forms of skeletal dysplasia, ranging in severity and clinical presentation. Currently there are five mutations known in the ACAN gene: D1, D2, D3*, D4 and D5. Based on scientific literature D1 has been flagged as the allele with the highest risk for early pregnancy loss or non-viable foals, while D2 would lead to the mildest forms of dwarfism.

This test covers all possible variants available in our webshop: ACAN D1, D2, D3*, D4, and D5. More information about the different mutations can be found at ‘Included tests’.

Combibreed Bichón habanero

Saddle tan vs black-and-tan

El hnRNP asociado con el gen Amarillo letal (gen RALY) define si los puntos negros o el Saddle-tan se expresan en perros Basset Hounds y Pembroke Welsh Corgi. El color negro y tostado se caracteriza por el color claro en el hocico, por encima de los ojos (puntos de color canela) y en la parte inferior del perro en un pelaje oscuro. El Saddle-tan se asemeja al color negro y moreno pero las áreas más claras se expanden dejando generalmente solamente la parte posterior como oscura. Los perros de color tostado suelen nacer Negro-y-tostado y el negro retrocede a medida que el perro crece. El color de capa se complica aún más por la interacción con el locus E, el locus K, el locus A y un gen aún no identificado. Para que se exprese el patrón saddle-tan o los puntos morenos, el perro necesita tener al menos una copia del alelo E o Em en el locus E, dos copias del alelo ky en el locus K y uno o dos Copias del alelo a en el locus A. El test de color de capa (H353) Saddle tan vs Negro-y-tostado nos informa del estado genético del gen RALY. El gen RALY tiene dos variantes (alelos). El alelo WT es dominante y provoca el color de la capa Saddle. Solamente cuando el perro tiene dos copias del alelo recesivo dup, el color de la capa es Negro-y-tostado. El color de capa Saddle está presente en un número limitado de razas de perros, incluyendo algunos de los terriers, sabuesos y perros de pastoreo. En las razas que tienen sólo perros con puntos tostados, y no saddle, los perros con puntos tostados pueden tener cualquier genotipo para el gen RALY. Esto sugiere que las interacciones más complejas están detrás de los puntos tan en razas que no son capaces de expresar Saddle.

El test de color Saddle tan vs Negro-y-tostado puede dar los siguientes resultados:

Improper Coat / Furnishing

El gen R-spondin 2 (RSPO2) influye tanto en la textura fibrosa como en el patrón de crecimiento de la capa. El patrón de crecimiento de la capa, también conocido como furnishings, aumenta el crecimiento del pelo en la cara y patas, y se caracteriza por el bigote y cejas caninas. El término furnishings se refiere a las cejas y bigotes más largos vistos en perros de pelo fibroso y en otras razas. En las razas como el Perro de Agua Portugués, Goldendoodles Y Labradoodle, el furnishing puede ser variable, pero es el standard de la raza. Los Perros de Agua Portugués sin furnishing tienen Improper coat, que se caracteriza por el pelo corto en la cabeza, cara piernas. El test H848 Improper Coat/Furnishing informa del estado del gen RSPO2. El gen RSPO2 tiene dos variantes (alelos). El alelo N es dominantes y resulta en furnishing. Sólo cuando el perro tiene dos copias del alelo recesivo IC, el perro no tendrá furnishing. Some breeds, such as the Airedale Terrier, are fixed for the dominant allele N.
